Microbe Decoder
Microbe Decoder is an online app that predicts functions of microbes in biological systems, including animals. The user provides names of microbes or their genes, and the app predicts functional traits with three tools. It is designed to work with microbes from pure cultures or the microbiome. The app features a database containing over 20,000 types of microbial strains, allowing users to select organisms from the database or upload their own dataset.
The app's three predictive tools rely on taxonomy, metabolic networks, and machine learning. The algorithm for the first two tools has been described previously. The third tool uses an algorithm similar to DiASPora, except KO IDs (not pfam IDs) are predictors.
