Committee Membership Calls
The National Animal Nutrition Program (NANP) is a National Research Support Project (NRSP-9) funded through the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture. NANP advances animal nutrition science by sharing, synthesizing, and disseminating data resources, educational tools, and enabling technologies that support high-priority research across domestic agricultural species.
NANP is currently accepting applications for the following committees. These volunteer service roles provide opportunities to shape priorities in animal nutrition, contribute to science-based tools and resources, and build professional connections across academia, industry, and government partners.
Coordinating Committee (CC)
The Coordinating Committee oversees and coordinates the work of NANP committees, advises on national priorities in animal nutrition, and helps identify and address gaps in collaborations and research support needs. The CC provides guidance to the Feed Composition, Nutrition Modeling, and Feed Management Committees.
Feed Management Committee (FMC)
The Feed Management Committee was formed through a collaboration with USDA-NRCS to advance efficient and sustainable livestock feeding management. The FMC convenes stakeholders to identify priorities, provide training, disseminate science-based information and tools for conservation professionals and producers, and contribute expertise to evaluation tools and modeling efforts.
Nutrition Modeling Committee (NMC)
The Nutrition Modeling Committee advances the development, evaluation, integration, and communication of predictive nutrition and feed management models. The NMC focuses on ensuring models are scientifically robust, transparent, and interoperable for use in research, education, and decision-support applications, and supports training and capacity-building for key stakeholder groups.
